Goodwill has nicer items at lower prices and it's actually clean. You should stock both good and average items when you receive them at reasonable prices since they are free donations, not save all of the good items for 2 big sales each year. This process kills your daily customer base and goes against all standard business practices. If you want to make the most for a decent charity in our area, make sure you stock the good and the bad throughout the year otherwise your daily customers just stop looking each day and go elsewhere. The prices are getting quite high as well, we can buy many of the priced goods at retail stores or amazon for much less. Don't forget, the items are donated, that means 100% profit for the charity minus running expenses which can't be much unless MC is making an exuberant salary.
Staff is very friendly and great cause, but save yourself the time and go to Goodwill. This store mainly sells their quality items on eBay or to individuals outside of the storefront, and not to the customers who have been shopping, donating, and spending for years. Such a shame, this use to be a wonderful place to buy from. I use to spend $200-$400 per week here now I take in a pocket of change when I go in because I spend less than $5/week now. If you guys don't stock your shelves for the regulars we just stop buying, it's really simple business
So, I continued to look around and saw one thing I could use. An employee was unloading items from a cart and I asked if I could look at it. She was RUDE! She told me to just wait until she put it out. I waited. and waited. and waited while she put all the items on shelves. She then pushed the cart back with the item tat I wanted to look at back behind the counter. I asked her if she was going to put it out. She snipped and I mean snipped back, "It doesn't have a price yet." BUT it did! I saw the tag on it. Just plain uncalled for!
I drove 35 miles one way to go to this place b/c I was told after calling that they had chairs for $5. I went there and they had 2 chairs for $5 that looked like they pulled out of a landfill. Complete junk.
Hours aren't the greatest and the items can be hit or miss depending on when you go. Turnover is very quick. I've had the best luck when I'm just browsing, looking for a specific item can lead to disappointment. Not everything is of the highest quality, but you can definatly find some diamonds in the rough.
The selection is good ,although some items are getting way to high when u can go by them new . The goal is to help the community and the items are donated . So can't we work on keeping the items affordable for all ,some families really need the clothing, dishes and products offered and are not there to re sale the items they are truly needed and used for their family. Let's all remember that when we go and shop how so many families all over our community depend on the program to be here . So let's be here for everyone.
